I first owned one of the original CX500 motorcycles in 1978. This was one of the early models, some of which were prone to a few problems, notably cam chain tensioner & big end bearing problems (on a very small minority of bikes).
I have to say, I had no problems with mine, it was carefully run in and I had a very proactive approach to routine maintenance which is a big plus point for any engine and will massively improve engine life.
